MITROL WET - Protector antimanchas con efecto mojado

Mitrol Wet Monestir is a protective, stain-resistant treatment specifically formulated for terracotta, fired clay, and rustic pavers when you want to maintain the material’s breathability while enhancing its appearance with a permanent wet look and satin finish. It can be used both indoors and outdoors and is especially suitable for terraces, porches, patios, and other clay pavers exposed to moisture and the elements.

Unlike Mitrol Natural Effect, Mitrol Wet visually intensifies the color of the tiles. The treatment penetrates the material, enhances the color, and provides a smoother surface texture that makes subsequent scrubbing and maintenance easier.

Mitrol Wet helps reduce the absorption of household stains and protects the material from wear caused by use and atmospheric agents. It also helps prevent the appearance of salt efflorescence and moisture-related stains, and inhibits the formation of mold colonies on flooring and in grout lines.

Outdoors, reducing water penetration helps prevent damage to terracotta associated with freeze-thaw cycles. The product penetrates deeply, allows the tiles to breathe, and is formulated not to yellow or age over time.

It is an aqueous dispersion of acrylic copolymers. The Monestir technical data sheet, revised in January 2026, states:

The floor must be thoroughly swept, perfectly clean, and completely dry. There must be no traces of dust, grease, mildew, efflorescence, cleaning products, waxes, or treatments that could hinder uniform penetration.

It is especially important not to treat a surface that is still damp after a deep cleaning. Retained moisture can prevent proper absorption and cause whitish spots to appear during drying.

Monestir recommends applying it with a wide brush (approximately 20 cm), spreading a generous and even first coat over the tiles and grout lines. The amount should be sufficient to saturate the surface without leaving puddles.

If you wish to enhance the wet look, gloss, and protection, a second coat may be applied after approximately 4 hours. This second coat should be applied more thinly and in a crisscross pattern relative to the first.

It dries to the touch in about 5 minutes, although Monestir specifies approximately 24 hours for the treatment to reach full effectiveness. The recommended application temperature is between 5 and 35 °C. Tools can be cleaned simply with water.

On extruded, pressed, or machine-made terracotta—which typically has lower absorbency—apply a carefully controlled amount and spread it evenly to avoid brush marks.

Monestir recommends performing routine maintenance on the flooring with Cerabric. When worn areas develop over time, a deep cleaning can be performed with Sanigel; allow the surface to dry completely, then renew the treatment with a new coat of Mitrol Wet.
