BELLATRIX - Protector antimanchas con efecto mojado

Bellatrix Monestir is a protective, stain-resistant treatment designed for porous mineral materials when, in addition to protecting them, you want to intensify their color. It is particularly suitable for aged marble, granite, unpolished stone, slate, and hydraulic mosaic, and can be used on both interior and exterior flooring and wall surfaces.

Its main difference from Bellatrix Natural is the finish: Bellatrix enhances the material’s color and veining, intensifies the color of the grout lines, and provides a distinctive satin-wet effect. It is particularly effective for visually revitalizing dull stone or flooring where the natural veining is to be highlighted.

In addition to its aesthetic function, it acts as a protector against household stains and helps reduce moisture penetration. Monestir notes that it helps prevent salt efflorescence and moisture stains, while also facilitating future cleaning by reducing the buildup of dirt in the pores.

It also has a consolidating effect on the material and helps reduce wear and aging caused by inclement weather. The treatment preserves the material’s ability to breathe.

Bellatrix Wet Look is a solvent-based treatment, unlike Bellatrix Natural, which is water-based. Monestir’s current documentation describes its composition as cross-linked alkenes in a chlorinated hydrocarbon solution.

This difference affects both the finish and the application and cleaning processes. Tools used with Bellatrix must be cleaned with a universal solvent or a white spirit-type solvent, not with water. The work area must remain properly ventilated during application and drying.

The substrate must be thoroughly swept, clean, and completely dry. Moisture trapped within the stone can interfere with penetration and cause variations in the finish; therefore, after a deep cleaning, wait until the material has dried thoroughly.

Waxes, oils, varnishes, old treatments, and any contaminants that could prevent uniform absorption must also be removed. Before treating the entire surface, it is recommended to test a small area to assess porosity and color change.

Bellatrix is applied undiluted. Shake well before use and work in a well-ventilated area. Pour a measured amount into a clean container and apply using a wide brush (about 20 cm), spreading a thin, continuous, and uniform coat over the tiles and grout lines.

It is important to avoid pooling or applying too much product. On low-absorbency materials, and especially outdoors, the product should be spread very thinly to prevent an uneven surface film from forming.

The approximate coverage indicated by Monestir is 8 to 12 m² per liter, depending primarily on porosity. It dries to the touch almost immediately, but the treatment’s full effectiveness is achieved in approximately 24 hours. The recommended application temperature is between 5 and 35 °C.

The product does not yellow or darken over time when applied correctly and is designed to maintain its enhancing effect and facilitate routine maintenance.

To maintain the surface, routine, non-abrasive cleaning is recommended. When it becomes necessary over time to restore the shine and protection, Monestir recommends performing a deep clean with Sanigel, allowing the surface to dry completely, and then applying a new thin coat of Bellatrix.
