Description

The RUBI TX-MAX is a professional manual tile cutter designed for intensive work with ceramic tiles, especially porcelain tile and extruded stoneware, combining high cutting power with a reinforced structure and a design engineered to maintain precision and control even with large-format tiles and thick materials.

Professional Design

The TX-MAX series features a high-performance multi-point cutter capable of delivering up to 1,200 kg of maximum cutting force. RUBI calls this system MASTER POWER, developed to provide the necessary force when working with porcelain tiles and other particularly resistant ceramic materials.

The mechanism allows the scoring and cutting process to be performed with just one hand. The presser foot is locked in place via a ratchet system and released via a trigger, eliminating the need for additional steps to switch between scoring and cutting. This operation improves agility during repetitive tasks and is especially useful when handling larger tiles.

Scoring System

The TX-MAX incorporates the SLS Secure Lock System, designed to ensure precise and efficient securing of the scoring wheel. The position of the scoring unit provides a clear view of the scoring line, making it easy to follow the path during cutting.

The guides are made of 30-mm-diameter tubular steel and have a 2-mm-thick wall. The head uses extra-long aluminum slides with self-lubricating friction bushings, a solution designed to ensure smooth and stable movement of the assembly during use.

Tile protection

The movable spacer features an aluminum footplate equipped with a removable plastic protector. Its purpose is to reduce the risk of leaving marks on delicate surfaces during separation.

The maximum thickness depends on whether this protector is used. Without it, RUBI specifies a working range of 3 to 21 mm. With the protector installed, the maximum thickness is reduced to 19 mm.

Structure and Stability

The base is manufactured using die-cast aluminum and reinforced with a central rib designed to increase the rigidity of the assembly. Integrated onto it are floating tables made of galvanized steel that provide a stable surface to support the tile during scoring and subsequent separation.

Stability is particularly important when working with large tile sizes. For this reason, the TX-710 MAX and TX-1020 MAX feature two additional support arms, while the TX-1250 MAX has four additional arms due to the greater length of the tiles it is designed to handle.

Angular and Repetitive Cuts

The TX-MAX features a swivel square with a central pivot that allows the tile to be positioned correctly for making angular cuts. The series enables angular cuts between 0° and 45°, expanding its capabilities beyond conventional straight cuts.

It also features a side stop for making repetitive cuts and narrow strips. This feature ensures consistent measurements across successive pieces and facilitates jobs requiring repeated cuts of similar dimensions.

The Soft-Grip handle improves lever grip and provides a more comfortable surface for continuous work.

Applications

  • Intensive cutting of ceramic tile
  • Cutting of porcelain tile
  • Cutting of extruded stoneware
  • Straight cuts
  • Diagonal cuts
  • Angled cuts from 0° to 45°
  • Repetitive cuts
  • Cutting narrow strips
  • Working with large-format ceramic tiles
  • Available Variants

The TX-MAX series is primarily available in three metric lengths: 71, 102, and 125 cm. RUBI also offers a specific model, the TX-1020 MAX inch, designed for use with imperial measurements.

The TX-710 MAX is the most compact model in the lineup. It maintains the same 1,200 kg of separating force as the higher-end models, so choosing this model does not result in reduced separating force. It is recommended when the typical maximum length of the pieces does not exceed 71 cm and allows for diagonal cutting of tiles up to 50 × 50 cm.

The TX-1020 MAX extends the cutting capacity to 102 cm and accommodates pieces measuring 70 × 70 cm diagonally. It is a particularly well-balanced option for professionals who regularly work with formats close to one meter and want to maintain the structure, power, and multi-point system of the TX-MAX series.

The TX-1250 MAX is the highest-capacity metric model in the family. Its 125 cm length allows for working with considerably larger pieces and making diagonal cuts on tiles up to 85 × 85 cm. To improve support for these sizes, it incorporates four auxiliary arms instead of the two found on the TX-710 and TX-1020.

Included cutting wheels

RUBI’s technical documentation indicates that the TX-MAX models are equipped with an 8-mm cutting wheel and a 22-mm EXTREME cutting wheel. The machine is also compatible with the PLUS line of cutting wheels specifically designed for Premium tile saws compatible with SLS.

Compatible cutting discs

PLUS Ø8 mm SILVER cutting disc, ref. 01959

PLUS Ø8 mm ENDURE cutting disc, ref. 01903

PLUS Ø10 mm SILVER cutting disc, ref. 01991

PLUS Cutter Ø10 mm GOLD, ref. 01993

PLUS Cutter Ø18 mm, ref. 01992

PLUS Cutter Ø22 mm EXTREME, ref. 01900

The different cutting discs allow you to adapt the scoring to the characteristics of the material and its surface. The Ø8 mm SILVER is designed for smooth or slightly rough surfaces, while the ENDURE, GOLD, and EXTREME ranges offer alternatives for progressively more demanding materials and finishes.

How to Choose the Right Model

The three metric TX-MAX models share the same maximum splitting force of 1,200 kg and the same thickness range. The key differences lie in the cutting length, maximum diagonal size, dimensions, and weight of each machine.

For workpieces up to 71 cm, the TX-710 MAX offers the most compact option. For sizes of approximately one meter, the TX-1020 MAX significantly expands capacity while maintaining a moderate weight. When cuts of up to 125 cm or diagonal cuts of up to 85 × 85 cm are needed, the TX-1250 MAX is the highest-capacity option in this series.
