View productLightweight and precise RUBI RWK manual tile cutter with an asymmetrical guide, direct view of the blade, and 850 kg of cutting power for porcelain stoneware.
The RUBI RWK is a professional manual tile cutter designed to offer a particularly well-balanced combination of lightness, precision, and visibility when scoring ceramic tiles. Its asymmetrical single-guide design allows the user to directly observe the path of the scoring wheel, reducing common blind spots and facilitating precise tracking of the cutting line. It is particularly well-suited for the precise and frequent cutting of porcelain tile and for the intensive cutting of stoneware and glazed tiles up to 18 mm thick.
The main feature of the RWK is the asymmetrical arrangement of its single guide. By positioning it outside the operator’s direct line of sight, the cutting wheel remains clearly visible while scoring the tile. RUBI notes that this design provides visibility comparable to that of its traditional dual-guide cutters, but within a considerably lighter and more compact structure.
This configuration is particularly useful when it is necessary to precisely follow a mark previously made on the tile. Being able to continuously observe the cutting wheel’s contact point helps the professional control the path and detect any deviation during scoring.
The RWK has been designed to reduce weight without sacrificing the rigidity necessary for precise cuts. Both the guide and the base are made of extruded aluminum, while the structure incorporates a reinforced steel rib intended to increase the overall stability of the unit.
The difference in weight compared to bulkier cutters makes the RWK a particularly attractive option for professionals who frequently need to move their tools between different work areas.
The carriage moves on special bearings along ground and chrome-plated steel rails. This design is intended to provide smooth and precise movement throughout the cutter’s entire travel, which is especially important when making long cuts where any play could affect the blade’s path.
The slide also features an eccentric wheel that allows for adjustments to the carriage when necessary. The ends of the travel path incorporate rubber stops, and the base itself is equipped with rubber feet designed to improve stability on the work surface.
The RUBI RWK delivers a maximum splitting force of 850 kg. It uses a multi-point presser that allows you to select the appropriate area to apply the splitting force, which is particularly helpful when working with longer pieces.
The presser’s position is adjusted via a magnetic system. This solution streamlines the transition between the different phases of the job and allows for easy handling of the unit during repetitive cuts.
The handle is made of tubular steel and features a Soft-Grip PVC grip area. This combination is designed to maintain the structural strength required during separation while providing a more comfortable grip during continuous use.
The RWK models feature articulated side arms made of engineering polymer to increase the support surface area for tiles. The RWK-650 and RWK-850 models have two arms, while the RWK-1200 has four due to its greater working length.
These attachments help keep the tile stable during scoring and separation, especially when the tile’s width significantly exceeds the central surface of the cutter.
The RUBI RWK series consists of three cutting lengths. All share a maximum cutting capacity of 850 kg, the same thickness range of 6 to 18 mm, and the asymmetric single-guide design. The main differences lie in the maximum cutting length, the maximum diagonal size, the physical dimensions, and the weight of each machine.
The RUBI RWK-650 is the most compact model in the family. Its 65 cm capacity allows you to work comfortably with standard sizes while maintaining the same core cutting performance as the higher-end models. Its dimensions and light weight make it the most manageable option when longer cuts aren’t required.
The RUBI RWK-850 increases the maximum cutting length to 85 cm and allows for diagonal cuts on tiles up to 60 × 60 cm. It serves as a mid-range option for those who regularly need to work with sizes larger than those supported by the RWK-650, without requiring the dimensions of a 120-cm machine.
The RUBI RWK-1200 is the high-capacity version. Its maximum length of 120 cm allows for working with large-format tiles and making diagonal cuts on pieces up to 85 × 85 cm. To provide additional support, it incorporates four articulated arms, compared to the two used in the 65- and 85-cm versions.
RUBI’s technical documentation specifies that the RWK includes a 22 mm EXTREME scoring wheel with part number 01901. This scoring wheel is designed for demanding materials and is part of the scoring system used by the cutter.
RUBI also identifies various components as specific accessories for this product line, designed to increase stability and adapt the machine to specific working conditions.
Kit of 2 articulated legs for RWK, part no. 27939
All three versions offer exactly the same maximum cutting capacity of 850 kg and are designed for tile thicknesses ranging from 6 to 18 mm. For this reason, your choice should be based primarily on the maximum size of the tiles you’ll be working with and how important it is to have a particularly compact and lightweight machine.
For tile sizes up to 65 cm, the RWK-650 is the smallest model in the series. The RWK-850 expands the capacity to 85 cm and accommodates 60 × 60 cm tiles. For tiles up to 120 cm or diagonals up to 85 × 85 cm, the RWK-1200 offers the greatest capacity and includes four side arms for improved support.
