The RUBI DS-250-N Laser&Level is a professional electric sliding-head cutter and miter saw designed for heavy-duty work requiring precision on porcelain tile, ceramic wall tile, glazed stoneware, marble, granite, and other compatible materials. It combines a powerful 3 CV motor, a sliding head on ball bearings, an aluminum frame, a laser marking system, a built-in level, and water cooling with adjustable flow. The series is available with cutting lengths of 102, 132, and 152 cm to accommodate both standard sizes and large-format pieces.
The DS-250-N is designed for tile setters, marble workers, installers, and professionals who need a stable machine to make straight and miter cuts with high precision. Its movable head configuration allows the motor assembly to be moved over the workpiece while it remains supported on the table.
The 230 V and 50 Hz configurations designed for the Spanish market use a direct-drive motor with a power rating of 3 CV. This power rating is designed to maintain adequate performance when working with hard and demanding materials, including porcelain tile and certain natural stones.
The direct drive reduces the number of intermediate components between the motor and the blade, providing immediate transmission of motion to the cutting assembly.
The motor assembly moves on bearings to ensure smooth and precise tracking along the workpiece. This system is particularly important for long cuts, where even a small deviation of the head can become more noticeable as the distance traveled increases.
The head can be tilted up to 45° to make miter cuts. This feature makes the DS-250-N a particularly valuable machine for jobs where the edges of the tiles must meet to form a clean edge, such as in corners, wall cladding, steps, and certain decorative finishes.
The name Laser&Level refers to two aids designed to facilitate positioning and cut preparation. The laser projects a line onto the workpiece to improve visibility of the cutting path, while the level helps verify that the machine is correctly positioned in the work area.
The laser allows you to preview the approximate path of the blade and makes it easier to align the marks made on the tile before starting the cut.
The DS-250-N uses water cooling to control the blade temperature during cutting and facilitate the removal of particles from the contact area.
Adjusting the flow rate allows you to adapt the water supply to working conditions. Maintaining sufficient cooling is especially important when making prolonged cuts on hard materials.
The product line features RUBI’s ZERO DUST system, developed to reduce exposure to respirable dust particles generated during cutting.
According to RUBI’s specifications for the ZERO DUST system, the certified conditions allow for up to three hours of continuous work on ceramic tile and up to one hour on natural stone.
All three variants use diamond blades with an outer diameter of 250 mm and a 25.4 mm shank.
The machine features a guard system designed to work with compatible TURBO and SEGMENTED blades. The blade should be selected based on the material to be cut, as the type of diamond band directly affects the speed, finish, and durability of the cutting tool.
The DS-250-N features a swivel square that allows you to position the workpiece for cuts ranging from 0° to 45°. It also includes a side stop to facilitate repetitive cuts.
This configuration is especially useful when you need to produce multiple pieces of identical size or make repetitive angled cuts.
The main frame is made of aluminum, designed to combine rigidity and strength with a lightweight construction for a professional machine of this size.
The removable tables facilitate access to the underside to remove water, sludge, and debris generated during cutting. Keeping this area clean helps maintain proper operation of the machine and the cooling system.
The DS-250-N 1000, 1300, and 1500 share the same machine design, featuring a 3 CV motor, a Ø250 mm blade, and a maximum straight-cut depth of 51 mm. The main differences lie in the maximum cutting length, maximum diagonal cut, table dimensions, and weight.
The DS-250-N 1000 is the most compact model in the series. Its 102 cm capacity allows you to work with pieces approximately one meter long and make diagonal cuts on tiles up to 72 × 72 cm. It features the same 3 CV motor and the main performance characteristics of the higher-end models, but offers a more compact design when cuts longer than one meter are not required.
The DS-250-N 1300 increases the working length to 132 cm and allows for diagonal cuts on workpieces up to 93.5 × 93.5 cm. It is an intermediate option for professionals who frequently work with formats larger than one meter but do not need the maximum dimensions of the 1500 version.
The DS-250-N 1500 is the model with the highest capacity. Its cutting length reaches 152 cm and allows for diagonal cutting of pieces up to 107.5 × 107.5 cm, making it particularly well-suited for facilities where large formats are common.
All three variants have the same power, cutting height, and blade diameter. Therefore, selecting a higher-end version does not mean having a more powerful motor, but rather primarily increasing the ability to work with longer pieces.
For working with pieces approximately one meter long, the DS-250-N 1000 offers the most compact configuration. The DS-250-N 1300 provides significant additional capacity for modern formats longer than one meter. When regularly working with tiles up to 150 cm or large diagonals, the DS-250-N 1500 offers the greatest capacity within the product family.
The table extension and the ceramic mounting bracket can be particularly useful when working with large formats, as they allow you to increase or improve support for certain pieces.
The cutting area and tables should be cleaned regularly to remove ceramic, stone, and slurry residue. The removable reservoir makes it easy to empty and clean the water circuit.
Periodically check the condition of the blade, ensure it is properly secured, verify the alignment of the cutting head, and check the movement over the bearings. It is also necessary to keep the cooling system operational and verify that sufficient water flow reaches the blade before starting the cut.
