Functionality
HORMIMIX® brings the quality and controlled dosing of an industrial concrete plant to a manageable and versatile format. It is a dry concrete composed of a precise mixture of Portland cement, selected aggregates, and additives, all pre-dosed in dry form to ensure that, when water is added, a structural concrete with guaranteed strength (normally 25 MPa or higher) is obtained.
This solution eliminates manual dosing errors on site ("mixing by eye") and ensures the uniformity of the material in each batch. It is the technical answer for those jobs where the volume of concrete required does not justify ordering a concrete mixer truck or where the location of the site makes it impossible for heavy machinery to access. When to use it?
HORMIMIX® is the most versatile product for renovation contractors and industrial maintenance: Small foundations, garden walls, and anchoring posts or fences. Repairing potholes, sidewalks, or damaged concrete elements. Filling trenches for electrical or plumbing installations.
Small screeds and floor slabs in basements or single-family homes that are difficult to access. Technical DIY work and renovations in urban centers with traffic restrictions. Fixing street furniture, benches, and signage. It is ideal for optimizing inventory on site, as only the exact amount to be used is mixed, avoiding material waste.
Application method The simplicity of HORMIMIX® allows for quick installation with basic tools: Mixing can be done manually in a trough or using a small concrete mixer, adding approximately 2 to 3 liters of water per bag until the desired consistency is obtained. It should be mixed for at least 2-3 minutes to ensure that all components and additives are activated correctly.
Once poured, it must be compacted and screeded in the usual way, ensuring that there are no air pockets. Like any concrete, it requires a curing process (keeping it moist) during the first few days, especially in hot or windy conditions. It should not be applied to frozen substrates or where there is a risk of frost in the hours following pouring.
