FIBERMIX® - Hormigón Reforzado con Fibras
High-tech concrete that incorporates fibers (metallic or synthetic) into its mass. It improves toughness and crack control and allows the replacement or reduction of conventional steel mesh.
General Description
Functionality FIBERMIX® is a reinforced concrete that homogeneously integrates millions of fibers during the manufacturing process at the plant. These fibers act as multidirectional reinforcement distributed throughout the volume of the material, providing additional tensile strength and energy absorption capacity (toughness) superior to plain concrete.
Its main function is to control plastic shrinkage and limit the opening of cracks, improving the overall durability of the structure. With reinforcement present in every cubic centimeter, FIBERMIX® protects edges and corners from impact and surface wear, creating a much more resilient matrix than the traditional concrete mesh system. When to use it?
FIBERMIX® is the standard technical solution for optimizing time and improving performance on large surfaces. Recommended applications include: Industrial flooring in logistics and warehouses with heavy traffic. Floors in homes, garages, and access ramps. Sports courts and urban paving. Tunnel and slope support using shotcrete.
Prefabricated elements where the aim is to reduce weight and the complexity of the reinforcement. Areas subject to heavy impact or constant mechanical abrasion. It is particularly useful when the aim is to eliminate the labor associated with laying wire mesh and avoid errors in the positioning of lightweight reinforcement in the ground.
Application method The installation of FIBERMIX® is quick and easy, similar to that of standard concrete, but with obvious logistical advantages: It is unloaded directly from the truck or by pumping, eliminating the risk of tripping over raised mesh. It allows direct access for trucks to the pouring point, speeding up the construction process.
The surface finish can be achieved with mechanical troweling (helicopter), ensuring that the fibers are integrated and do not protrude from the surface. It is essential to ensure proper curing to maximize the benefits of the fiber in controlling shrinkage. In the case of structural replacement of steel, the design must be validated by the technical department to ensure compliance with current regulations.
What makes it different? Constant three-dimensional reinforcement: unlike mesh, the reinforcement is throughout the entire section. Significant savings in labor costs and rebar execution times. Dramatically increases impact resistance and edge chipping.
Greater safety on site by reducing the handling of steel bars and sharp mesh. Improves the service life of pavements by reducing the formation of microcracks that lead to potholes. FIBERMIX® simplifies site logistics and offers a more robust and durable pavement, eliminating the weak points of traditional steel reinforcement on horizontal surfaces.
