General Description
Functionality The CEMEX TILE® range represents the evolution in construction adhesive chemistry. These are adhesive mortars formulated with synthetic resins that provide superior chemical adhesion, going beyond simple mechanical anchoring. This makes them indispensable for modern ceramic materials, such as porcelain stoneware, which, having almost zero porosity, require an adhesive capable of chemically "anchoring" itself to the piece.
These adhesives stand out for their "Low Dust" technology (low dust emission) and excellent thixotropy, which prevents heavy pieces from sliding on walls (zero vertical slippage) and allows the applicator to work more comfortably. In addition, their flexibility (S1/S2 classification) allows them to absorb differential stresses between the substrate and the tile, preventing detachment caused by temperature changes or vibrations.
When to use it? CEMEX TILE® is the trusted solution for professional installers in highly demanding situations: Installation of large-format ceramic tiles (Slim or XXL). Bonding of porcelain tiles on exterior facades subject to freeze-thaw cycles.
Installation of ceramic tiles on floors with underfloor heating (where there is constant expansion). Overlaying new tiles on old flooring without the need for demolition (tiled-on-tiled system). High-humidity areas such as swimming pools, public bathrooms, and spas. Commercial flooring with heavy foot traffic.
Application method The key to success with CEMEX TILE® lies in the application technique and adherence to open times: The double gluing technique (applying adhesive to both the substrate and the back of the tile) is recommended for formats larger than 30x30 cm. Use the appropriate notched trowel to ensure 100% coverage of the contact surface.
Mix with an electric mixer at low speed until a homogeneous, lump-free paste is obtained, allowing the mixture to rest for a few minutes before use. Control the "open time": once the adhesive has been spread, the tile must be laid before a dry film forms on the surface of the mortar.
Respect the installation joints (minimum 2 mm) and perimeter expansion joints to allow for natural movement of the structure. What makes it different?
