Frequently asked questions about grout and sealants
How is tile grout consumption calculated?
The estimate combines area, tile length and width, tile thickness, joint width and the coefficient of the selected product. This means two tile formats can require different quantities for the same area.
How are sealant cartridges or packs calculated?
Total volume is estimated by multiplying sealing length by joint width and depth. The selected allowance is then added and the figure is divided by the usable pack content, rounding up to full units.
Which Mapei product should I choose?
The calculator filters products by application and joint width. The final choice should also consider the substrate, exposure, expected movement and the technical-sheet instructions.
Is the result exact?
It is an indicative estimate. Substrate condition, application technique, waste and actual joint geometry can change consumption. Confirm the calculation and availability before purchasing.
