Description

Specialized Grout Cleaning Without the Use of Acidic Cleaners

FILA FugaNet is a ready-to-use detergent specifically formulated to thoroughly clean the grout between ceramic floor and wall tiles. It is designed to restore grout lines that, over time, have accumulated dirt, environmental grease, and deposits that cause them to darken, especially in kitchens, bathrooms, high-traffic areas, and frequently used surfaces.

It can be used on grout lines associated with glazed ceramic tiles, porcelain stoneware, single-fired and double-fired ceramic tiles, and glass mosaic or gresite. One of its main advantages is that it cleans without damaging or corroding the tile surrounding the grout line.

Acid- and Hypochlorite-Free Formula

FugaNet is clearly distinct from traditional acidic grout cleaners and chlorine-based bleaching products. FILA specifies that its formula contains no acids or sodium hypochlorite.

This is particularly useful for routine maintenance: it allows you to remove grout dirt without having to resort to aggressive descaling treatments every time.

The product’s safety data sheet indicates an approximate pH of 10.5, making it an alkaline formulation. It is completely soluble in water and has a characteristic pine fragrance.

FILA also incorporates biodegradable ingredients into its formulation.

Where to Use It

FugaNet is primarily designed for grout lines in

Porcelain stoneware flooring.

Ceramic floor and wall tiles.

Glazed ceramic.

Glass mosaic or gresite.

Kitchens.

Bathrooms.

Showers and tiled areas.

High-traffic interior flooring.

Compatible exterior wall coverings.

Although FILA markets it as suitable for all types of grout lines, the surface surrounding the grout line must also be compatible with the product.

Direct Application

FugaNet is used undiluted.

The container includes a spray nozzle, which allows the cleaner to be directed straight onto the grout lines and minimizes unnecessary use on the tiles.

The recommended procedure is

Spray FugaNet directly onto the grout.

Let it sit for a few minutes to allow the cleaner to loosen the dirt.

Scrub the grout with a flat brush, a grout-specific brush, or a compatible abrasive sponge.

Rinse thoroughly with water until the cleaner and loosened debris are completely removed.

The result depends on both the chemical action and the scrubbing. For raised or particularly porous grout lines, using a brush allows you to reach into the small crevices where dirt accumulates.

Heavily soiled or old grout lines

FugaNet is primarily designed for cleaning and maintenance. When a grout line has a very heavy layer of mineral dirt or old installation residue, FILA recommends first performing a deeper clean with Deterdek Pro diluted approximately 1:10, provided the surfaces are compatible with an acidic detergent.

Once the grout has been restored, FugaNet can then be used for periodic maintenance.

This distinction is important
Deterdek Pro removes mineral and cement-based deposits, while FugaNet is designed to keep grout clean during normal use.

Complementary Use with FugaProof

FILA presents FugaNet and FugaProof as a complementary system.

First, FugaNet is used to thoroughly clean the grout. Once clean, FugaProof can be applied—a protective treatment that subsequently reduces water absorption and staining.

This combination is particularly beneficial in kitchens, bathrooms, and on light-colored flooring, where unprotected cementitious grout tends to absorb dirt quickly.

Coverage

FILA estimates a coverage of up to 850 linear meters of grout per 750-ml container.

Naturally, this figure depends on the width and depth of the grout line, the size of the tiles, the amount sprayed, and the level of dirt.

The advantage of the spray bottle is precisely that it allows for targeted application and reduces product consumption.

Application and Storage Temperatures

The recommended application temperature ranges from 5 to 30 °C. The product should also be stored at temperatures between approximately 5 and 30 °C.

No preparation, mixing, or dilution is required before use.

Important Limitations

FILA sets forth several specific precautions.

Do not use on

Polished marble.

Polished limestone.

Polished terrazzo.

Methacrylate surfaces.

The product may cause methacrylate to become matte, so special care must be taken when working near bathtubs or other items made of this material.

It should also be avoided on porous surfaces that have been treated with wax, as the cleaning action could affect the existing finish.

If you have any doubts about the surface, test the product on a small area before proceeding.

Packaging

FugaNet is currently sold in an ergonomic bottle with a spray nozzle, designed for direct application to joints.
