CR 10 - Limpiador de residuos epóxidicos
Professional-grade, high-viscosity gel cleaner for removing residue, streaks, and hardened epoxy sealant and adhesive deposits from non-absorbent surfaces.
View productFast-acting cleaner to remove moss, algae, mold, lichen, and black stains from sidewalks, facades, and exterior walls in just 15 minutes.
FILA Algacid is a ready-to-use detergent specifically developed for cleaning exterior surfaces affected by green stains, algae, mold, and lichens.
It is suitable for pavements, facades, walls, terraces, and other elements exposed to rain, ambient humidity, vegetation, pollution, and areas with little sun exposure. These conditions promote the growth of green or blackened coatings that are not always effectively removed with a conventional detergent.
In addition to biological contaminants, Algacid helps remove blackening caused by dust, air pollution, and debris from decaying leaves and vegetation.
FILA positions it as a corrective and deep-cleaning product designed to restore the surface to its original appearance.
Compatible natural stone.
Clay and terracotta.
Exposed brick.
Extruded stoneware.
Concrete.
Plaster and certain mineral coatings.
Compatible painted walls.
Exterior walls and flooring.
Its viscosity is specifically adjusted to facilitate application on vertical surfaces as well—an important consideration for facades and walls where an excessively liquid detergent would run off before taking effect.
One of Algacid’s main features is its action time.
FILA specifies a minimum period of approximately 15 minutes before beginning mechanical action. This allows for relatively quick treatments, even on large exterior surfaces.
The product comes ready to use and should not be diluted.
Unlike other ready-to-use products that are applied directly to a dry surface, FILA specifically states that the surface must be moistened with water beforehand.
This step promotes a more controlled distribution of the cleaner and prepares the material’s pores before applying Algacid.
A spray bottle.
A brush.
Another applicator suitable for large surfaces.
The small trigger-spray version is especially useful for localized areas, while the large-capacity format can be used on facades, patios, and larger paved areas.
After applying the product, allow it to act for at least 15 minutes.
FILA then recommends different application methods depending on the surface characteristics:
Scouring pad, for small surfaces.
Brush, for rough flooring or grout lines.
Single-disc machine with a green pad, for large areas.
Pressure washer, especially practical for hard outdoor surfaces.
The combination of chemical and mechanical action loosens adhered deposits and removes dead or softened debris.
After treatment, rinse thoroughly with water.
This step removes both residual detergent and the algae, contaminants, and organic matter dislodged during cleaning.
The tools used must be washed immediately after the job is completed.
FILA estimates a coverage of approximately 10–20 m² per liter.
Porosity of the surface.
Degree of contamination.
Roughness.
Amount of algae or moss.
Application method.
Whether or not the treatment needs to be repeated.
On a slightly blackened facade, consumption may be significantly lower than on porous stone with heavy colonization.
Water-soluble product.
Its clearly alkaline pH explains its strong cleaning power and makes it advisable to wear gloves and eye protection and to carefully follow the safety instructions on the container.
Algacid is designed for building surfaces, not for vegetation or textiles.
FILA expressly states that it must not be sprayed on plants, fabrics, or metals.
If accidental contact with any of these items occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
This precaution is especially important when cleaning patios and facades near planters, furniture, metal railings, or awnings.
Before starting work on a large surface, it is recommended to protect or remove any sensitive objects in the surrounding area.
FILA states that the product should not be used on new polished stone.
On natural stone, the finish must be correctly identified before treatment. A preliminary test is especially recommended when the type of stone or existing treatment is not fully documented.
On colored concrete, FILA requires that a test be performed first on a small area to check for any color changes.
The same caution should be applied to painted walls. Although the product is listed among compatible surfaces, paints vary greatly in composition and chemical resistance.
Always verify that the existing paint can withstand the treatment without discoloring, softening, or losing adhesion.
FILA’s product documentation expressly states that the product must be used in accordance with the guidelines for biocidal products, and that the label must always be consulted before use.
Due to its alkalinity and cleaning power, gloves and eye protection must be worn, especially when applying the product with a brush, spray, or pressure washer, where the risk of splashing is increased.
On vertical surfaces, it is advisable to start in a controlled area and avoid working directly beneath the sprayed area.
It makes no sense to use Algacid as a regular maintenance cleaner when the floor is simply covered with dust or everyday dirt.
It is specifically designed for restoring outdoor surfaces affected by moss, algae, mold, lichens, or stubborn blackening.
Once the surface has been restored, regular maintenance and addressing issues such as poor drainage, moisture, or lack of sunlight can help delay the reappearance of biological contaminants.
