Naveta

The Naveta tile from Ladrillerías Mallorquinas is a handcrafted terracotta tile characterized by its distinctive six-sided shape. Its geometry allows for the creation of decorative patterns that cannot be achieved with conventional square or rectangular tiles.

It can be laid on its own to create repetitive patterns or combined with 15 × 15 cm square tiles. By arranging several Navetas around a central tile, you can create geometric compositions with a strong artisanal character, suitable for patios, porches, terraces, entryways, and interior spaces.

Its name and shape are reminiscent of the traditional “navetas” of the Balearic Islands, making it particularly well-suited for projects seeking a visual connection to Mallorcan architecture and material culture.

Due to its unique geometry, it is important to lay out the design beforehand before beginning installation. The orientation of each tile directly influences the final pattern and the cuts required along the perimeters.

As with any handcrafted product, there may be slight variations between individual tiles. These differences are part of the traditional finish and should be distributed by mixing pieces during installation. La Naveta has been tested in accordance with UNE-EN ISO 10545-2, UNE-EN ISO 10545-3, and UNE-EN ISO 10545-4.
