MAPEFER

Mapefer by Mapei is a two-component, anti-corrosive cementitious mortar designed to protect exposed steel reinforcement during concrete repair work. It is supplied as a powder component and a liquid component, which are mixed in a 3:1 ratio.

It is applied to steel bars that have been previously cleaned to remove rust, dust, and deteriorated sections. It forms a protective layer that helps prevent further corrosion before the structure is rebuilt using a compatible repair mortar.

It must be applied with a brush in two coats until a minimum total thickness of 2 mm is achieved, allowing approximately two hours to elapse between coats. The mixture remains workable for about one hour, and the repair mortar can be applied between 6 and 24 hours later. It complies with the EN 1504-7 standard and is sold in pre-measured 2-kg kits.
