Description
Mapei’s Idrosilex is a water-repellent additive designed to produce cementitious mortars with lower water absorption. It is added directly during mixing and is available in two forms: Idrosilex Líquido (liquid) and Idrosilex Polvere (powder).
Main Applications
It is suitable for preparing waterproof plasters, screeds, and mortars intended for basements, tanks, channels, facades, and other structures exposed to moisture or water penetration. The product acts within the mortar mix itself and does not form a separate surface coating.
Dosage and Formats
Idrosilex Liquid is dosed at 3 to 5 kg per 100 kg of cement and is sold in 6- and 25-kg drums. Idrosilex Polvere is used at a rate of 2 to 4 kg per 100 kg of cement and is available in boxes containing 25 bags of 1 kg each. The mixture remains workable for approximately one hour.
