Tornillo Drystar TN

Coarse-threaded self-tapping screw for fastening drywall panels to metal frames.

Tornillo Drystar TN · Knauf

General Description

The Knauf Drystar TN screw is a drywall-to-metal screw designed to fasten drywall panels to metal substructures in drywall systems. Its self-tapping design and coarse thread allow for quick and secure fastening during the installation of partitions, wall linings, and ceilings.

It is particularly suitable for applications requiring long screws, such as systems with multiple layers of board or thicker cladding. The size should be selected based on the number and thickness of the boards, ensuring sufficient penetration into the metal profile without damaging the outer surface.

The screw allows the head to be slightly countersunk into the panel, making it easier to subsequently cover it with joint compound to achieve a continuous surface ready for the final finish.

For proper installation, the spacing between screws, the distances from the edges, and the specifications of the corresponding Knauf system must be observed. Although it is part of the Drystar line, the official product data sheet does not identify this model as a corrosion-resistant screw; for structures exposed to humid environments or corrosive conditions, the specific accessories recommended for the system must be verified.
