Knauf Fixing Primer is a water-based synthetic resin primer developed to prepare absorbent surfaces before applying paints, plasters, or other thin-film finishes. Its high penetration capacity allows it to seal and consolidate the substrate, reducing its absorbency and evening out porosity.

It can be used indoors and outdoors on laminated gypsum boards, gypsum, lime, or cement plasters, and certain dry subfloors. It also helps improve adhesion over weak emulsion paint layers and protects plaster finishes from moisture rising from the substrate.

It is supplied ready to use and is applied manually with a brush or roller, forming a thin, uniform film. It is water-vapor permeable, alkali-resistant, and formulated without solvents or plasticizers.
