Description

Sealing at Extreme Temperatures

CEYS Refractory Mastic is an inorganic sealant specially formulated to fill cracks and seal non-moving joints subjected to very high temperatures. It is suitable for fireplace liners, stoves, ovens, heating appliances, fire doors, and for installing or repairing refractory bricks. It adheres to iron, metal, refractory brick, stone, concrete, ceramic, vitrified surfaces, rock wool, ceramic fiber, calcium silicate, and plaster.

Technical Specifications

It withstands continuous temperatures of up to 1,100 °C and peak temperatures of up to 1,500 °C, including direct exposure to fire. Once cured, it develops a rigid texture, so it is intended exclusively for non-moving joints. Its final color is black, and it does not turn white when exposed to heat. The formulation has an approximate density of 1.55–1.65 g/ml and is non-flammable.

Application and Installation

The surface must be clean and free of dust, grease, dirt, and poorly adhered materials. It is applied using a cartridge gun, completely filling the joint and smoothing it before it dries. CEYS recommends allowing it to dry for 24 to 48 hours without turning on the appliance. Afterward, the temperature should be raised slowly and maintained above 100 °C for approximately 2 hours to complete curing. It is not suitable for outdoor use or for areas in direct contact with water.
