Hydrogrund

Hydrogrund is a colorless, water-based siloxane microemulsion primer designed to strengthen surfaces and even out their absorbency before applying the final coating. It is specifically formulated as a primer for Lotusan and for Beissier Therm ETICS systems, although it can also be used under other compatible plastic or acrylic coatings. It can be applied to concrete, cement, mortars, single-layer coatings, cement boards, plaster, stone, brick, plastic paints, and properly adhered render.

Its good penetration helps to even out the substrate and improve the performance of the subsequent finish. It provides a slight water-repellent effect without impeding water vapor permeability, a combination particularly well-suited for facade systems. It is supplied ready to use; it should not be diluted and can be applied with a brush, roller, or airless spray gun. Approximate coverage ranges from 0.05 to 0.20 L/m² depending on the substrate’s absorbency, and a second coat can be applied approximately 12 hours later at 20 °C. It is not suitable for surfaces with permanent or capillary moisture.
