Fondo Pétreo

Fondo Pétreo is a water-based, pigmented acrylic primer designed to seal, harden, bind, and level surfaces before applying coatings such as Granocryl Acrylic Mortar or other stone-effect finishes. It can be used both indoors and outdoors and is particularly suitable when the substrate has uneven absorption or needs to have its consistency improved before receiving the final coating.

Its formulation combines high penetrating power with resistance to weathering and rainwater, helping to stabilize the substrate without blocking its ability to breathe. It is permeable to water vapor and CO₂, an important characteristic in facade systems where it is important to limit the entry of liquid water while maintaining vapor diffusion. It is ready to use; however, on highly absorbent substrates, Beissier recommends diluting it with water by approximately 10–20%. The theoretical coverage is approximately 6–8 m²/kg, depending on the substrate’s absorbency.
