Bonding Primer for Coatings
SikaTop®-30 is a single-component, water-based acrylic resin designed to improve the adhesion of cementitious mortars, plasters, and gypsum to porous mineral surfaces.
Typical Applications
It can be used on concrete, mortar, brick, natural or artificial stone, and fiber-cement. It is suitable for plastering, rendering, joints between partitions and columns, and other applications where it is necessary to enhance adhesion between the existing substrate and the new coating.
Application and Advantages
It is supplied ready to use and is applied by brush, roller, or spray onto a clean, firm surface free of standing water. It remains tacky for a sufficient period to allow for convenient application of subsequent layers. It can also be used on substrates with surface moisture. The approximate coverage is 0.150 to 0.175 kg/m², depending on absorbency and roughness. It is not recommended as a primer for mortar screeds over concrete slabs.
