Preparation of Difficult Surfaces
SikaTop®-10 is a water-based synthetic primer formulated with styrene-acrylic copolymers and mineral fillers. It acts as a pore filler and adhesion promoter, creating a rough surface that facilitates the subsequent application of mortars and coatings.
Substrates and Applications
It is suitable for concrete, mortars, precast elements, gypsum board, and properly adhered existing ceramic tiles. It is particularly useful on smooth, compact, or low-absorption surfaces where a conventional mortar might have difficulty adhering.
Easy Application
It is supplied ready to use and must be mixed thoroughly before application with a brush or roller to evenly distribute its mineral fillers. The substrate must be sound, clean, and free of dust, oils, or loosely adhered particles. Its water-based formulation is non-flammable and allows for regulating the substrate’s absorbency before applying microcement, plaster, or other compatible finishes.
