General Description
Waterproofing Without Covering the Floor
Sikalastic®-495 T is a single-component, elastic, transparent, and glossy polyurethane coating. It is designed to protect balcony and terrace tiles while preserving their original appearance and providing a seamless, durable, and easy-to-clean surface.
Application on Existing Tiles
It is used on properly prepared ceramic flooring when you want to renew the protection without covering the tiles with a colored membrane. The standard system includes Sika® Aktivator PRO as a pretreatment and two coats of the product, with an approximate coverage rate of 0.4 L/m² per coat. For heavier foot traffic, three coats may be applied.
Performance and Finish
It is water vapor permeable, compatible with various substrates, and offers good tensile strength and resistance to occasional contact with household detergents, acids, and weak alkalis. Its slip resistance can be increased by incorporating glass microspheres or quartz sand into the fresh coat.
