Sikagard®-5500

Sikagard®-5500 is a single-component, elastic, water-based coating designed to protect concrete surfaces. Its high resistance to carbon dioxide diffusion helps slow the progression of carbonation and protect reinforcing bars from corrosion.

It is suitable for new structures, repaired elements, and surfaces subject to thermal movement or cracking. It has a high capacity to bridge static and dynamic cracks, even at temperatures as low as −20 °C, while maintaining water vapor permeability.

It is supplied ready-to-use and can be applied by brush, roller, or airless equipment. It offers good adhesion and coverage on properly prepared concrete, very low emissions of volatile organic compounds, and weather resistance. Its formulation incorporates materials from renewable sources to reduce the product’s carbon footprint.
