Preparation Before Coating
Sika® ThermoCoat-5 ES TI is a water-based, pigmented acrylic primer formulated to prepare cementitious substrates before applying the final decorative coating. It can be used in ETICS systems and on concrete or mortar surfaces with normal, high, or very high absorbency.
Uniformity and Adhesion
Its good penetration regulates the substrate’s absorbency and promotes a more uniform finish. Its high opacity helps even out the background color, while its alkali resistance allows it to be applied to properly cured cementitious materials.
Easy Application
It comes ready to mix and is applied with a brush or roller to clean, dry, and sound surfaces. It is impervious to rainwater yet vapor-permeable, maintaining the facade’s breathability. Its approximate coverage is 6 to 8 m² per liter. It is typically supplied in white and in 15-liter containers.
