Plastic and Wood Treatment
Sika® Primer-215 is a one-component, transparent, slightly yellowish primer formulated to prepare various plastics, wood, and certain porous materials prior to bonding or sealing.
Compatible Substrates
It is used to improve adhesion to PVC, ABS, fiberglass-reinforced plastics, epoxy resins, wood, and other compatible substrates. It is particularly useful in construction, industrial, and marine applications where Sikaflex® adhesives must bond to plastic or unevenly absorbent surfaces.
Application and Precautions
The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of grease, dust, and contaminants. The product is applied once, forming a thin film using a brush, felt, or suitable applicator. Before applying the adhesive, allow it to air dry for the period specified by Sika, which may vary depending on the system used. For plastics susceptible to stress cracking, a preliminary compatibility test is recommended.
