Sika®-1

Sika®-1 is a liquid, normal-setting additive formulated to increase the waterproofing properties of mortars and concretes. During cement hydration, it generates mineral substances that seal the capillary network, hindering the passage of water through the hardened material.

It can be used in mortars intended for lining swimming pools, tanks, water treatment plants, canals, wells, sewers, facades, walls, and basements. It is also suitable for concrete used in foundations, retaining walls, barriers, tunnels, galleries, swimming pools, and other structures exposed to moisture or contact with water.

For mortars, it is recommended to dilute one part Sika®-1 in ten parts water, with an approximate consumption of 0.250 kg/m² per centimeter of thickness. In concrete, it is used at a 1:14 dilution, equivalent to approximately 3% of the cement weight. It is chloride-free and is available in 5- and 25-kg containers.
