General Description
Mapei’s UltraCare Grout Release is a ready-to-use, water-based stain-resistant protective treatment that is applied to tiles before grouting with cementitious mortars.
Main Applications
It is particularly suitable for polished porcelain tile, terracotta, clinker, and natural, artificial, or agglomerated stone. Its application prevents the grout from penetrating the surface’s micropores, facilitates the removal of residue, and reduces the appearance of halos or the so-called “frame effect,” which is particularly noticeable on large-format tiles.
Application and Drying
Apply evenly to a clean, dry surface using a mop or microfiber cloth, removing any excess before it dries. Grouting can be performed after approximately 4–8 hours. It does not affect the mortar’s adhesion within the joints. It is intended exclusively for cementitious grouts and should be tested beforehand to verify the aesthetic result.
