MAPETHERM AR1

Mapei’s Mapetherm AR1 is a single-component cementitious mortar for professional use, designed to bond thermal insulation panels and form the base layer of Mapetherm exterior thermal insulation systems.

It is used to attach insulation panels to masonry, concrete, or stable plaster facades and to apply the subsequent reinforced render using an alkali-resistant mesh. It is a versatile solution for new construction and energy-efficient building retrofits.

The product is mixed with 21–24% water and applied with a trowel. For bonding panels, the approximate coverage is 4 to 6 kg/m², depending on the flatness of the substrate and the application method. When used as a render, it is applied at a rate of 1.3 to 1.5 kg/m² per millimeter, with a recommended thickness of approximately 4 mm in two coats. It is available in gray and comes in 25-kg bags.
