General Description
Mapetherm AR1 Light by Mapei is a single-component, lightweight cementitious mortar for bonding and rendering thermal insulation panels in exterior thermal insulation systems.
Applications and Substrates
It can be used with expanded or extruded polystyrene panels, polyurethane, mineral fibers, cork, and wood fiber, in accordance with the system’s technical specifications. As a base coat, it is applied with Mapetherm Net to form a reinforced coating.
Advantages and Performance
Its formulation with lightweight mineral aggregates reduces weight and material consumption compared to conventional mortars, making it easier to spread during installation. It is mixed with approximately 29–31% water and applied at temperatures between +5 °C and +35 °C. It is used at a rate of 3 to 5 kg/m² as an adhesive and 1.20 to 1.40 kg/m² per millimeter as a render. Its particle size is approximately 1 mm.
