Mapestop by Mapei is a concentrated silicone microemulsion, formulated with silanes and siloxanes and free of solvents. It is used to form a horizontal chemical barrier that prevents moisture from rising through walls by capillary action.

Before use, it must be diluted with water in a ratio ranging from 1:15 to 1:19. The prepared solution remains usable for approximately 24 hours and is injected into holes drilled in the masonry using gravity or a suitable injection pump.

Coverage depends on the wall’s absorbency and thickness. As a reference, a 40-cm-thick wall requires approximately 8–9 kg of solution per linear meter, equivalent to 0.4–0.6 kg of concentrated product. It is supplied in 1-kg metal cans and is primarily intended for professional restoration and dehumidification projects.
