General Description
Mapesil Z Plus by Mapei is a single-component, acetic-cure silicone sealant that is mold-resistant and specially developed for bathroom joints. It forms an elastic, waterproof, and durable seal after reacting with ambient moisture.
Main Applications
It is suitable for sealing joints in bathrooms, showers, kitchens, sinks, bathtubs, toilets, shower enclosures, ceramic tiles, and glass. It is appropriate for compatible, non-absorbent surfaces where it is necessary to prevent water ingress and maintain a hygienic finish.
Performance and Packaging
It accommodates movement of up to 20%, has an approximate Shore A hardness of 18, and maintains workability for approximately 25 minutes. It is available in white and clear, making it easy to adapt to the most common bathroom applications. It is supplied in 280-ml cartridges and applied with a caulking gun. Each cartridge is sufficient to seal approximately 2.8 linear meters of a 10 × 10 mm joint.
