MAPELASTIC FOUNDATION · Mapei

General Description

Mapelastic Foundation by Mapei is a flexible, thixotropic, two-component cementitious mortar formulated to waterproof concrete or masonry structures subjected to positive or negative hydraulic pressure.

Main Applications

It is suitable for foundation and retaining walls, basements, underground parking garages, elevator shafts, storage tanks, canals, in-ground swimming pools, and previously leveled block walls. It withstands negative pressure of up to 1.5 atmospheres, equivalent to a 15-meter water column.

Application and Performance

It is applied with a roller, trowel, or by spraying onto solid, clean, and properly prepared substrates. Two coats must be applied to achieve a minimum final thickness of 2 mm. The mixture remains workable for approximately one hour and is resistant to soluble salts such as chlorides and sulfates. It complies with the EN 1504-2 standard and has an EMICODE EC1 Plus classification due to its very low emissions.
