MAPEFOAM
Polyethylene foam cord for adjusting the depth and improving the performance of sealed joints.
General Description
Mapefoam by Mapei is a flexible cord made of extruded, closed-cell polyethylene foam, used as a joint filler before applying elastic sealants.
Main Function
It allows for precise adjustment of the sealant depth and control over the amount of product required. Additionally, it prevents the sealant from adhering to the bottom of the joint, ensuring it bonds only to the two sides and allowing it to better accommodate expansion and contraction movements.
Applications and Sizes
It is suitable for joints in facades, flooring, precast panels, concrete, masonry, and other elements sealed with compatible products from the Mapeflex line. A diameter slightly larger than the joint width should be chosen to ensure it remains securely in place. It has an approximate density of 40 kg/m³ and is available in diameters of 6, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 mm, supplied in boxes of various lengths.
