General Description
Mapei’s Isolastic is a liquid polymeric latex used as a total or partial replacement for mixing water to improve the performance of certain cementitious adhesives.
Available Combinations
It can be mixed with Kerabond, Kerabond T, and Kerafloor to produce high-performance adhesives with extended open time and high deformability, classified as C2E S2. It can also be combined with Adesilex P10, after first diluting Isolastic with water in a 1:1 ratio, to produce a deformable adhesive classified as C2E S1.
Applications and Advantages
These combinations are recommended for installing ceramic tiles, mosaics, and natural stone on substrates subject to movement, temperature changes, or demanding conditions. Isolastic increases the adhesion and flexibility of the cured adhesive. It is sold in 25-, 10-, and 5-kg containers, as well as 1-kg packages, and must be protected from freezing during storage.
