Tornillo TB punta broca
Self-tapping screw with a drill bit tip for fastening drywall to thicker metal studs.
General Description
The Knauf TB Drill-Point Screw is a drywall-to-metal screw designed to fasten laminated gypsum boards to steel sheet substructures. Its drill point pierces the profile directly, allowing for quick installation without the need for pre-drilling.
It is particularly suitable for metal structures with thicknesses ranging from 0.7 to 2.25 mm, where a conventional sharp-pointed screw may not provide adequate penetration. Therefore, it is useful in drywall systems, wall cladding, and ceilings that incorporate thicker metal profiles.
Its self-tapping design allows the thread to form during installation and ensures a secure fastening between the panel and the substructure. The head must be properly countersunk into the panel’s surface—without tearing the paper—to facilitate subsequent joint compound application and achieve a uniform finish.
The TB Screw is available in lengths of 25 and 35 mm, allowing you to select the appropriate size based on the thickness and number of panels to be fastened. Both variants are supplied in boxes of 1,000 units.
To ensure proper installation, the spacing between fasteners, the distance from the edges of the panel, and the specifications of the Knauf system being used must be observed.
