The Knauf PL-PL 5.5 Screw is a fastener specifically designed to create direct joints between laminated gypsum boards, without the need to anchor them to the metal substructure at that point. It is specially designed for installing systems with multiple layers of board, allowing an outer board to be fastened directly onto the previously installed layer.

It is useful for interior walls and ceilings with multi-layer cladding. When fastening board to board, it helps keep both layers together during installation and facilitates the proper alignment of the cladding before joint treatment and surface finishing.

The screw has a diameter of 5.5 mm, suitable for providing a secure hold within the gypsum core. It must be installed so that the head is slightly countersunk, without breaking or damaging the paper face of the outer panel.

The available version is 38 mm long, a length designed to pass through the outer panel and penetrate sufficiently into the underlying panel. It is supplied in boxes of 1,000 units.

To ensure a proper bond, it must only be used in Knauf-specified panel-to-panel configurations and must comply with the screw spacing, edge distances, and installation instructions for the corresponding system.
