The studs serve to support the panels and absorb the stresses inherent to their components, without any external load-bearing function. The studs are used in a vertical position for the installation of self-supporting wall systems and partitions, as a framework for attaching laminated gypsum panels. They come in various widths, all of which are 1 mm narrower than the channels, allowing them to be inserted into the channels. Not recommended for standard ceilings.

They are used in wall linings, partitions, and other drywall construction elements as a framework for attaching gypsum board and comply with the UNE EN 14195 standard.
