Maestra CD 60/27
C-channel metal profile for continuous and suspended ceilings made of laminated gypsum board.
General Description
The Knauf Maestra CD 60/27 is a C-shaped metal profile used as a support element in construction systems with laminated gypsum boards. It is particularly suitable for forming the horizontal structure of continuous suspended ceilings and can also be used as a vertical element in braced self-supporting wall systems.
Its cross-section, measuring 60 mm wide and 27 mm high, provides a stable base for screwing the panels in place and facilitates the creation of flat, properly leveled surfaces. It can be combined with hangers, direct anchors, brackets, connectors, and other accessories specific to the Knauf CD 60/27 system.
The profile is manufactured with a nominal thickness of 0.6 mm, suitable for load-bearing elements such as studs and joists. Its design allows for the construction of strong, lightweight substructures, while also providing a cavity for incorporating thermal or acoustic insulation and housing certain utilities.
In suspended ceilings, the main beams directly support the gypsum panels and transfer loads to the suspension system. In cladding systems, they form part of the metal framework that keeps the cladding separate from the existing wall.
The CD 60/27 Main Stud complies with the UNE-EN 14195 standard, which pertains to metal framing elements used in systems with laminated gypsum boards. To ensure proper performance, it must be installed in accordance with the spacing, fastenings, hangers, and specifications established for each Knauf construction solution.
