Knauf Safeboard 12,5
Lead-free radiation-shielding drywall to protect medical facilities from X-ray exposure.
Lead-Free Radiation Protection
Knauf Safeboard 12.5 is a laminated gypsum board specially developed for constructing X-ray radiation protection systems. Its core contains barium sulfate, which provides the necessary radiation protection without the use of lead sheets.
Applications
It is suitable for partitions, wall linings, and ceilings in radiology rooms, dental offices, clinics, hospitals, and other spaces where diagnostic imaging equipment is used. The number of panels required will depend on the level of protection needed for each project.
Features and Installation
It is classified as a DF-type fire-resistant panel according to the UNE-EN 520 standard and is easily identified by the yellow color of its core. It can be installed using conventional drywall systems, with Safeboard joint compound to maintain the continuity of radiation protection.
