How to calculate flooring, tiles and boxes
Measure the usable area, add a sensible allowance and check the selected format before ordering.
Measure length by width for each floor or wall area and add the results. Deduct relevant areas that will not be covered, such as a fixed island or built-in unit. The calculator first shows net area, which you should compare with the plan before adding waste.
Waste covers cuts, breakages and unusable pieces. Ten percent is a useful reference for straight installation in a regular room, but diagonal layouts, large formats, many junctions or continuity between rooms may require more. If you know the tile dimensions and box coverage, the tool estimates pieces and complete boxes.
Always round boxes up and confirm calibre, shade, joint width and laying direction before ordering. Steps, skirting, trims, movement joints, adhesive and grout are not automatically included. Share your measurements and selected format with Ferragut if you need a compatible system review.

What waste allowance should I add?
Start with 10%. Use more for diagonal layouts, irregular rooms or complex formats.
Should flooring boxes be rounded up?
Yes. Flooring is supplied in complete boxes, so never round down.
Should I deduct fixed furniture?
Deduct only relevant areas that will not be covered; small cuts usually offset minor differences.
Does the calculator include adhesive and grout?
No. They depend on the format, surface and installation system.
